Tesco colleagues and customers raised €300,000 to purchase EEG system for Children’s Health Foundation Ireland

Last week (2nd – 8th August), we called on shoppers across Ireland to support this year’s summer fundraiser for the little heroes in CHI at Temple Street. Tesco customers and colleagues raised €192,000 throughout the week, this phenomenal amount, added to proceeds from our Temple Street bouquets, face coverings and donations, means we’ve successfully reached the €300,000 target to purchase a new EEG system for the hospital.

An EEG system is a testing and imaging system that helps identify abnormalities in brain waves or electrical activity in the brain. The existing EEG system hardware is due for an update. The machine is used multiple times a day across almost all departments: ED, ICU, operating theatres, day and night wards.

Each year CHI at Temple Street treats over 147,000 children from across the country. For thousands of children, CHI at Temple Street is the only hospital in Ireland they can be treated in. Through the charity partner programme, Tesco colleagues and customers can help sick kids from all over Ireland get better and be real-life heroes to children attending the hospital.

Thank you to all of our colleagues and customers for your continued support.
