Supporting those affected by the crisis in Ukraine

Tesco Ireland pledges support to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal in support of their humanitarian relief efforts

At Tesco, our thoughts are with the people affected by the Ukraine crisis and with all those impacted at such a difficult and worrying time.

In March, colleagues and customers across our 152 stores and online gave generously to our call for donations to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. We are delighted to match an incredible €250,000 raised – meaning over €500,000 will now be donated to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal in the coming days.

We have also supported the Irish Government’s request for essential product donations for its reception facility for those arriving from Ukraine at Dublin airport, including toiletries, baby food and healthy snacks.

Tesco Mobile Ireland is extending its free calls and text from Ireland to Ukraine until the end of May. Also, for the month of May, we are continuing to provide free roaming calls, texts and data for our customers who are roaming in Ukraine and wish to contact friends or family in Ukraine or back in Ireland.

Tesco Group is supporting humanitarian relief efforts through our partnerships with the Red Cross, food banks and other relief organisations. Tesco has made a €1.2million (£1 million GBP) donation to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal to support their vital work. The first donations of food, hygiene products and clothing left depots in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 26 February. Tesco Group will continue to work closely with official relief organisations in all three countries, as well as local governments.
